O2 Spa, Asia’s largest day spa chain and India’s first organized day spa chain today announced its entry into Goa by opening its first outlet at Goa International Airport closely followed by outlets at Lemon Tree Amarante Beach Resort, Candolim and Hyatt Place, Bardez.

With this, the brand’s overall presence in the country reaches 100 outlets in 24 cities making it the country’s wholly owned largest spa and salon chain with over 6 lakh walk-in customers each year.

This announcement comes on the heels of a recent investment of USD 15 million that was made for the Indian market in order to grow to 150 outlets across 30 cities from the current 100 in 24 cities.

Established in 2008, O2 Spa is India’s only spa chain wherein all outlets are company owned company operated (COCO) and the only brand that runs its business by adopting different formats of operations, by being present in high-end hotels, luxury trains, Airports, Malls and their own spacious standalone outlets.

Commenting on the decision to set up shop in Goa Mr. Ritesh Mastipuram, Founder and Managing Director, O2 Spa said “The wellness industry in India is gaining wide acceptance amongst consumers as they are passionate about taking care of themselves and are willing to invest in wellness and beauty as a necessity and not as a luxury aspect anymore. The opportunity to serve the travelling crowd as well as locals is immense in Goa as the Spa culture has picked up effectively. Goa is a hub that is home to many different personalities from across countries and in order to appease this wide mix is a challenge that only a seasoned player can afford to offer. We are glad, therefore, today to be able to set up shop at 3 locations in Goa and take this as an opportunity to be able to offer premier spa services. Our commitment is to always go where the customer is and hence the opening of these 3 facilities shows just that. In an industry that is pegged at $200 million in India, we are excited to be leading the game changing dynamics and look at bringing about a wellness revolution”
