This carnaval, the historic Garcia de Orta garden will turn be transformed into a zone of fun and merriment. Carnival festivities at the Samba Square at Garcia de Orta will come alive with a host of activities and contests planned for children at the especially created kids and gaming zones, all through the 5 day gala event.

Face painters, stilt walkers, clowns, mascots, pony rides and magicians will bring the garden alive during the five day carnival celebration. Children can also participate in balloon shows, laughter contests, treasure hunts, bike rides and a host of fun activities. The traditional crowning of the Carnaval Queen and King will be held on 12th of February.

Kids can participate in a number of contests including art and drawing contests,  poster design competition, photography contest, fancy dress contest and more all through Sunday 10th February. Garcia de Orta will also host different sporting games like chess, carom, table tennis, skating and a range of skill races.

Samba Square is organized by The Panjim Carnaval Committee along with the citizens of Panjim at Garcia de Orta. Entry is open to all. The carnival celebration are supported by Ashok  Beleza, Mercedes Benz and Kingfisher among others.
