FC Goa were beaten 4-0 in their Hero Junior League clash against Dempo SC at Ella Ground, and need to ensure that heads don’t drop after the defeat.

FC Goa started the game promisingly, with Salgeo Dias starting up front and Climax Fernandes and Vedant Naik receving a rest for this one.

Despite Salgeo’s willingness to get into goal scoring positions however, he couldn’t see enough of the ball to make a significant impact in the first half.

Instead, Dempo pushed forward with purpose, and found a goal in the first period after the ball wasn’t cleared inside the box.

The final touch appeared to come via the boot of Dempo skipper Shreyash Naik, and the shot proved too hot to handle for Micky Dias in the FC Goa goal.

The Gaurs rallied after going behind, but were unable to find an equaliser before half-time.

The second half brought with it some more concerns for the boys in orange, as Dempo pegged them back early.

Despite Coach Prestley Pereira bringing on both Climax and Vedant, the advantage still lay with Dempo, and they doubled their lead early in the second period.

It was Shreyash Naik again who popped up to make it 2-0, and would complete his hat-trick later in the game to ensure his side win the game.

Asmon Viegas came off the bench to make it 4-0 at the very end, leaving FC Goa with some thinking to do as they left the field.
