The much anticipated Lusofonia Games scheduled to be held in Goa in January 2014 are slated to be one of the biggest international sporting events the state will be witness to. Extensive security arrangements have been planned by Goa Police for the benefit of the visiting players, international delegates from the 12 Lusophonian countries, officials and spectators.

Planned along the lines of major international sporting events, the state police along with Lusofonia Games Organizing Committee (LUGOC ) has put together measures to ensure that the Games go on without a hitch.

The Lusofonia Games 2014 are eagerly being looked forward to by all. There have been arrangements made for spectators at each of the Lusofonia Games venues. A detailed Spectator Guide has been created for the benefit of spectators which is available on the Lusofonia Games web portal.

Goa will be hosting the Portuguese commonwealth games in nine disciplines with participation from 12 countries. Participating countries are Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea- Bissau, Macau (China), Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, Sri Lanka and the host nation Goa(India).

The 3rd Lusofonia Games will be held over the period of 12 days from 18th to 29th of January 2014 and will see participation from over 1500 athletes and officials from 12 nations.
