The Goa Institute of Management (GIM) one of the premier B-Schools in India, hosted its annual convocation ceremony for the PGDBM batch 2011-13 at the campus in Sanquelim recently. Students turned professional managers received the coveted diploma after having completed over 22 months of academically packed rigorous training with exposure to live industrial projects.
The event was presided over by Mr Gopal Krishnan, Chairman Board of Governors of GIM ED of Tata Sons. Mr. Kishor Chaukar MD and CEO of Tata Industries (retd), delivered the convocation address. Also present at the occasion were Mr. Pratapsingh Rane, President of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Sunil Rai, Director at GIM, along with other members of the Board of Governors, students and faculty members of the institute.
The 19th Convocation ceremony began with a report on the institute’s performance highlighting the achievements of the institute during the last academic year. The students of GIM yet again proved that they are one of the best in B-schools with placements offers from some of the top companies in India.
A total 279 students were awarded their diplomas at the convocation ceremony. While 235 were full-time PGDMBA students, 44 were from the part-time MBA program which has gained ground with working executives. Students received their diplomas and special awards of merits from Mr. Kishor Chaukar. The award for Best Academic Performance was bestowed on Gauns Dessai Shaba Vikram, Amey Dilip Sardessai, received the Fr. Romuald D’Souza Gold Medal for Best Student of the Year.
