Chowgule College has announced commencement of new batches of Spanish language classes at its Spanish Centre which was inaugurated last year.
The Spanish Centre at Chowgule College has been established by the Student Support Services in association with the reputed Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi. Instituto Cervantes is the official organization founded by the Government of Spain in 1991. Its mission is to promote Spanish language, teaching and fostering knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world. With 76 centres located in more than 44 countries around the world, Instituto Cervantes is one of the most credible Spanish language institutes in the world.
Chowgule College has signed an MOU with Instituto Cervantes. . The Spanish Centre of Chowgule College is now the only Centre in the state of Goa to be associated with Instituto Cervantes.
The classes for Spanish language will commence on Monday, 4th November, 2013 in the College premises. Classes will be held twice or thrice a week, during day times depending on the convenience of most of the students (minimun 7 per group). The classes will be conducted for Beginer A 1.1 (60 hours) and Beginer A 1.2 (60 hours). It will involve 60 hours of learning spread over ten/twelve weeks, again depending on batches. The language course will be conducted by Spanish national Ms. Edith Aurrecoechea, an expert in the subject. Certificates will be issued by Instituto Cervantes to successful candidates on completing the course.
Spanish is the second language of international communication. It is spoken in 20 countries and it is the second most spoken language in the U.S.
