The Spanish Centre at Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts And Science in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi celebrated the Spanish Language Day at the campus recently. Gemma Martinez, Director, Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi was the guest of honour for the celebrations.
As part of the celebrations the college hosted different activities around the Spanish Language. The highlight of the event was the musical performance by eminent classical guitarist Shyamant Behal. Shyamant performed some of the favorite Spanish and Latin American classics. Celebrations also included a Spanish quiz, a free lesson on Spanish language for beginners and a treat to some Spanish delicacies.
Speaking on the occasion, Gemma Martinez, Director, Instituto Cervantes, said “We are happy to sign a MoU with Chowgule College. The college has an excellent infrastructure, adopts outstanding teaching – learning methods and a vision for enhancing quality education in the state. Edith Montenegro, the Spanish language instructor is an expert in the subject and is helping the students gain knowledge about this lovely language. We would also like to promote Spanish language and culture in other schools and institutions in Goa.
The Spanish Centre at Chowgule College has been established by the Student Support Services in association with the reputed Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi. Its mission is to promote Spanish language, teaching and fostering knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world. With 76 centres located in more than 44 countries around the world, Instituto Cervantes is one of the most credible Spanish language institutes in the world.
Chowgule College has signed an MOU with Instituto Cervantes. The Spanish Centre of Chowgule College is now the only centre in the state of Goa to be associated with Instituto Cervantes.
