The Winner’s Trophy of FIFA U17 World Cup is travelling in India to provide an opportunity to football lovers to witness and experience the Trophy up close.

 Bank of Baroda, the first National Supporter for the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted the prestigious Winner’s Trophy for the U- 17 World Cup at its Goa & WM Region at Mall De Goa, Porvorim today. 

 The trophy was unveiled at the hands of Shri. Arvind Lohi, Deputy General Manager (Goa & WM Region) and Mr. Bharamanand Sankhwalkar, Former Indian Football Team Captain, Arjuna Awardee, Chief Mentor CESA Football Academy.

 The trophy display was open to the public and specially to kids and students who came in huge numbers and witnessed the same. The Bank had specially designed a Football carnival atmosphere where the kids and the audiences not only got the first hand opportunity to witness the Winner’s Trophy up close but also got the chance to participate in various fun filled activities and sports and won prizes / merchandises and also tickets for the World Cup Matches. Over 700 kids from schools across Panjim, Goa became part of this mega event.

 Speaking on the occasion Shri Arvind Lohi, Deputy General Manager (Goa & WM Region) said “I appeal to the youth to open the Baroda Champ Savings Bank A/Cs and avail various other Banking services offered by our Bank. Football is played in all parts of Goa and is a loving sport of the Goan youth. Just as the football rises with every kid, we would like to synergize the youth of India with all banking facilities so as to make them strong business men & future entrepreneurs who will give fillip to Indian Economy in big way & this is the Goal. I also convey my best wishes to the event and the future activities ”

 Also present on the occasion were Mr. V. M. Prabhudesai, Director Sports Authority of Goa, Dr. Deep Bhandari, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine Doctor, Mr. Narayan Navati, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Goa.
