‘100 Windows of Goa’ a unique exhibition that celebrates the essence of Goa and all things Goan was inaugurated today at the hands of Francisco de Braganca, President, Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) at the Art Gallery, Kala Academy in Panaji. Also present at the occasion was honourable Governor of Goa Bharat Vir Wanchoo.
Henry and Fenesy Nazareth, the creative brains behind Goa’s unique fashion and lifestyle store ‘O My Goa’ have put together this unique three day exhibition ‘100 Windows of Goa’. The exhibit and product launch which is being held from 28th to 30th April, will showcase products, interiors and a fashion collection inspired by the architectural beauty of windows of old Goan homes. Having done extensive research on the art and architecture of windows of old Goan homes, Henry and Fenesy have incorporated its designs and elements into the various products on display.
The three day exhibition will showcase canvas wall art, wooden wall art, lamps, mugs, umbrellas and a capsule collection of garments and lifestyle products.
Speaking at the exhibition Fenesy Nazareth said, “We seek to put forth Goan designer products to people who appreciate art, admire the beauty of the land and would love to have that unique Goan something which adds to his/her lifestyle.
“We feel that Goa lacks in its own designer products and being Goan designers we wanted to do our bit in terms of promoting Goa the creative way.” added Henry Nazareth.
Speaking at the inaugural, Francisco Braganca, President, TTAG, said, “The windows at this exhibition offer us a view into Goa’s rich heritage, architecture and culture. The ‘100 windows of Goa’ exhibition portrays a variety of beautiful windows that I have never seen before. I wish Henry and Fenesy all the best and I’m sure they’ll succeed in this venture.”
The exhibition brings to the people of Goa, an edgy, creative, quirky and eclectic mix of wall art, fashion and lifestyle products. Skilfully merging urbanism and traditionalism, products on display are based on Goan themes and celebrate the fun-loving aspects of the people of Goa.
The exhibition is open to people from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm at the Art Gallery at Kala Academy till April 30, 2014
